I love painting people, especially people I know. These people work in a restaurant called Pueblo Viejo in Algodones, Mexico about 20 minutes from my home. My husband and I have been going in there since 1995, and most of them have been working there long before that. We always sit at the end of the bar, so the painting is created from that perspective. The technique of impasto was used in the walls, arches, tile bar and elsewhere. To see how this painting was created in stages see slide show below.
