PAINTING PROCESS
I love painting people especially when they are doing something they love. The painting below is a portrait of a man that loves golf more than anyone I know. The painting is hanging in the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course clubhouse in Yuma, Arizona.

7/22/10 ON THE TURN TWO
Starting on the background and blocked in the figures.
Finished the background and some of the reflections. Starting on the face and hands
Finished the hands and starting to add more detail to the face and shirt. Applied base coat to golf cart
Finished golfer and added lighter coat of paint to cart. Starting to work on chrome and headlights. Also added alligator in reeds as requested by the golfer.
Need to finish flag, windshield, steering wheel, bumper, and touch up surrounding areas

I love painting people, especially people I know. Here, I will share with you examples of the process of painting a group of people. They work in a restaurant called Pueblo Viejo in Algodones, Mexico about 20 minutes from my home. My husband and I have been going in there since 1995, and most of them have been working there long before that. These are some of the reference photos I took while they were working. We always sit at the end of the bar, so the painting is created from that perspective.

8/20/10 PUEBLO VIEJO
Painting in the back walls, arches and ceiling. Blocked in the bar to a smooth finish with a palette knife, and finished the glasses on back bar.
8/30/10 PUEBLO VIEJO
Completed the walls, light fixture, and started the beer cooler. Applied a lighter coat of paint to the bar with a palette knife.
9/14/10 PEUBLO VIEJO
Painted in face of Pietro on right and Jose.
9/20/10 PUEBLO VIEJO
Painted in faces of (left to right) Chef, Luis, Felix, Bris, Nacho, Ignachio ( the musician) and then started on Jose's shirt and hands.
9/27/10 PUEBLO VIEJO
Nearly finished. Completed clothing and hands, bar grout and reflections. Still need to finish beer bottles and touch up faces and some surrounding areas.
